What will I receive?
A separate copy of your submitted map in its original file format, with password protection removed and calibration data preserved. Your original upload is not overwritten.
How much does it cost?
$100 USD per map, flat — one submitted file, one recovered copy. The free test costs nothing.
How do I pay?
Payment is arranged when your recovered map is ready. Cryptocurrency for now — exact instructions come with your quote. Card and PayPal support is coming soon.
Can I test my map first?
Yes — choose the free test when submitting. For LinkECU maps, we return a partial password. For Haltech NSP maps, where the password itself is hashed, we return the engine configuration: cylinder count, firing order, capacity, compression, and aspiration. You decide whether to continue with full recovery afterwards.
Which files do you support?
LinkECU .pclx, .pcl, and .pclr files, and Haltech NSP .nexmap files. Files are reviewed individually; not every version or protection type is automatically covered. Support for more ECU brands is in development and grows as each new format is validated.
Is recovery instant?
No. Each request is handled manually. You’ll hear back with the outcome or any questions. A turnaround estimate can be given after reviewing the file.
Will this change my tune?
The service removes map password protection. It does not change your fuel, ignition, or other calibration settings, and it is not a tuning service.
Is this the same as an ECU activation code?
No. This service concerns password protection on map files. It does not provide dealer activation codes or repair ECU hardware.
Can I submit a real request here?
Yes. You’ll receive a request reference right after submitting. Every request is reviewed manually, and we’ll get back to you with questions or your recovered map.
How is my file and contact information handled?
We use your email, request details and map to review and fulfil your request. Cloudflare handles the upload, private storage and anti-abuse checks; Brevo sends request emails. Files and request records are managed and deleted manually. To request deletion, email support@unlockmymap.com and include your reference.
